C# Analyst (6 month contract to hire)

Location of Position:  Plano, TX

 

 
Position Purpose
 
Work as part of a team of developers, business analysts and DBAs to design, develop, test, and support transaction processing systems. Must have strong analysis skills to identify and design complete solutions to complex processing requirements. The primary language is C# / .NET with a focus on database interaction, concurrency, performance and correctness. A familiarity with ASP.NET, ASP, or Java will help.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
• Ability to work with minimal direction. Must be a self-starter.
• Ability to take ownership of work and identify/initiate needed enhancements.
• Ability to work with multiple teams in order to define requirements.
• Ability to work effectively with Level I support staff in order to resolve issues quickly.
• Experience with NUnit or JUnit and understanding of how to create testable code.
• Ability to learn and identify new technologies that can be leveraged based on requirements.
• Ability to carry the implementation of new functionality all the way through multiple phases, including the definition and implementation of the operating environment.
• Ability to support on call rotation schedules that cover weekends and after hours.
 
Qualifications
 
• Education/Certification:            Bachelor Degree Preferred
 
• Requirements:
• Languages/Frameworks: 5 + years experience with C#.   Java experience will also be considered.
• Visual Studio 2005/2008.
• Strong analytical and testing skills.
• Experience with NUnit or JUnit or other unit testing framework.
• 5 years experience with Microsoft SQL-Server. Must be able to create stored procs, create efficient queries, understand SQL performance issues, and create support DTS packages or SSIS.
• OS: Windows.
• US Citizen or green card status.
• Strong Communication skills.
 
Desired :                      
• Experience developing middleware and performing analysis work involving system integration.
• Working experience with Oracle.
• Working knowledge of PL/SQL.
• Experience with transaction processing systems or applications.
• Experience with Message Queuing, ASP.NET, ASP, Biztalk or other ESB.
• Team Foundation Suite (TFS), Web Services, Active Batch scheduler, Encryption, Eclipse.
• Exposure to financial transaction processing specifications: Visa Base I, Visa Base II, or ISO 8583, or related.
 
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
 
• Physical Requirements:           Those required in a typical office environment including sitting most of the time, finger dexterity for computer and paper work, talking to convey detailed or important instructions, average hearing for normal conversations, and average visual acuity. 
• Working Conditions:    No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions
