.NET developer available
Hello,
I hope I am not breaking any forum rules in posting (advertising) myself....
I am a .NET C# developer who is planning to relocate to Dallas/Fort Worth. I am looking for .NET work and am available immediately. My strengths (or previous work) has been in C#, WinForms, ADO.NET, SQL Server, and some WPF. I am interested in growing more in WPF, WCF, ASP.NET MVC, TDD, SOA, and the latest .NET technology.
If anyone, whether recruiters or others, knows of opportunities or perhaps helpful contacts that could help me find my way in the marketplace there, I would be immensely grateful. I am also planning to come visit (job or not) in late October, so I would then be available to meet anyone in person.
A little more about me: I have worked in software development since the late 80s, starting in C/C++, COM, and then moving into .NET in 2002 (with .NET 1.0). I have done a variety of projects, usually on small teams, as a contractor usually, including three projects at Microsoft (in Redmond) and some work for the Navy. I am highly (overly?) educated, with a BS and MS in EE/CS (Cornell) and a PhD with a thesis in an area of computational linguistics (Harvard). But all that education will probably still not keep me from making stupid typos in the posting! In recent years I have worked as an independent consultant through my own consulting business (Infinitiv Consulting), but in moving to Texas I am open to other arrangements (W2 contracts, perm positions, etc.).
I have been interested in moving to Texas for a while, partly for economic/business reasons and partly for cultural/personal reasons (e.g., I don't have a church where I live currently). But now I am definitely set to move, as my current project has ended, and so it is a good time to go.
Feel free to response to me by email, at devcom@infinitiv.com.
Thanks.
Scobie Smith
